The Brunswick Town Historic District NRHS site includes Brunswick Town ruins, Saint Philip's Anglican Church ruins, and Fort Anderson earthworks. Saint Philips is also registered as a separate historic site. Brunswich Town was settled in 1726 and was a major British port until 1776, when British troops raided the town in the Revolutionary War. In 1862, earthworks for Confederate Fort Anderson was built on part of the site during the Civil War.
